Animals just have no regard for the recording process. This one is from Special Episode #6.
This outtake from Special Episode #4 isn’t a blooper so much as a joke that I didn’t like. Stephen had just feigned surprise at the Internet not existing back in the 1940s, and I made a follow-up crack. When I went to edit, I felt Stephen’s joke played better without mine, and so I took mine out. But here it is, in case you’re curious.
We don’t record in a fancy studio or anything, so sometimes environmental sound leaks into our recordings. During the recording of Special Episode #4, that source of sound was my wife.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said things like “last week’s show” or “next week’s show” during recording sessions of these non-weekly special episodes. This blooper from Special Episode #3 is one of many such instances I’ve had to edit out.
English? What’s that? From this outtake from Special #2, you wouldn’t think I know anything about it. But that’s the power of editing for you.
During the recording of Special #1, Stephen conflated a couple of movie titles.
During the recording of Special #1, I made reference to Scrooge, the main character of A Christmas Carol. For some reason, though, what came out of my mouth was the name of a very different character.
It’s been two years since the last weekly episode of All Movie Talk, but that didn’t stop me from finding a blooper to post. For some reason, this one fell through the cracks.
This blooper is from Episode 52’s Top 6 segment. Bette Davis would no doubt have disapproved of my momentary mental lapse. Still, imagine what All About Eve could have been!
Also, a quick tease: Check back later this week.
